jamesmaskell: ahahahahahahaha. To think this was played at THE big event of the calender!
Oct-28-06  charleslucas: OMG..
Dec-13-07  Whitehat1963: No, no, Saleh, just take my c-pawn. Then I'll resign and we can spend the rest of the day at the nudie bar. Our wives will never know! They think we'll be here for hours!
Dec-13-07  Valmy: <Whitehat1963> <Our wives will never know! They think we'll be here for hours!> They are women, so "our husbands will never know" looks more adequate...
Dec-13-07  Whitehat1963: Whoops! I'm sure they went shopping instead, then.
Dec-13-07  Valmy: Probably
Dec-13-07  Whitehat1963: <Valmy> I saw from one of your posts that you speak (or at least read) Catalan. That's very cool. I speak and read Spanish, and seem able to understand written Catalan a little bit. How's your Spanish?
Dec-13-07  Valmy: <Whitehat>: This is a complicated matter. I live in the french part of Catalunya. In this area most of people no longer used catalan. But some of them still use this language, as my parents did when I was a kid. So, I could say that catalan is my mother language, along with french.

But catalan from here is a bit different from the official language, spoken in the Spanish part of Catalunya. Anyway, I unterstand and speak the "good" catalan (not really write it).

Concerning Spanish, my level is about the same as my english one (learned at school, practised in Barcelona during an internship).

Dec-13-07  Whitehat1963: Well, I'd say for a second (or third) language, your English is superb!
Dec-13-07  Valmy: Hopefully you can't hear my accent;-) But thanks a lot
Dec-13-07  Whitehat1963: Accent or no accent, your English is better than my Catalan. By the way, how well do you understand Italian and Portuguese? I understand a lot of the Italian that I hear and some of the Portuguese that I read, but struggle when it's the other way around.
Dec-13-07  Valmy: I sqometimes (not every time) understand simple documents written in italian or portuguese. I mean not every single word, but the general meanning, with errors sometimes. Portuguese is easier to me that italian, because it's looks like catalan. I understand neighter spoken Italian nor Portuguese, or merely a few words.
