Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-13-06  GeauxCool: At the time, the opening to move 6...c4, was called the Folkestone variation of the QGD. It was popularized by the Swedish team at the international tournament at Folkestone in 1933.

9...dxe4 is forced.

11...Qxd4 (The alternative was Nxd5 but is no better after 12.dxe5 Nc6 12.Nd6+)

13...Bxe4 (If the other Bishop moves, 13...Ba5, then 14.Nd6+ is fatal)

Winning Move:
18.Nxc1!! because if 18...Kxc1 19.Bxc4+ and 20.Bxe2

At move 26., the game could have been won in a variety of ways. -Fine
