Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-12-07  ganstaman: Assuming they didn't mess up the endgame there: that was a complete waste of 50 moves. Drawing a K+B vs K+R endgame is rather simple. The 'weaker' side just allows his king to go to a corner the opposite color of his bishop so that he can interpose the bishop from what would otherwise be mate (and the rook then either leaves the backrank, followed by the bishop, or stalemate will likely pop up).

Besides that, the bishop basically just has to stay on or near that diagonal and make sure it doesn't get captured. You could probably play those 50 moves in a minute and still walk away with the draw.

Eh, white dropped a piece for 2 pawns anyway (looked like a drop and not a sacrifice to me), so maybe black expected him to mess up somewhere.
