chessgames.com: We set up the round #2 game early. This will start 8:00am USA/Eastern, tomorrow morning. Hope to see you all here.
Jul-24-06  Dres1: This is a promising match up... i will go with the young Carlsen who seems to keep improving constantly.
Jul-24-06  babakova: I hope for another super GM scalp for Magnus, so far he has collected Shirov and Adams.
Jul-24-06  you vs yourself: Surprisingly, so far these two never played each other.

I'll go with Moro in this exciting matchup.

Jul-24-06  DCP23: I'm supporting Morozevich here and I'll bet chessbucks on his win too.
Jul-24-06  TheBB: I hope this game will be the treat it so easily can be. It would be fun if Carlsen massacred Moro, but that's a looong shot.
Jul-24-06  FENfiend: I will cast my vote for Carlsen if he plays 1. e4, but Morozevich if he plays 1. d4. I predict a draw if he plays anything else.

suenteus po 147: This has to be the game of the tournament for kibitzers here; with the possible exception of Carlsen-Radjabov.
Jul-24-06  TylerD: Morozevich will win. Moro is capable, unlike most players, to match Carlsen s innovative and tactical stuff - and he is, still, superior in positional feel. Moro will win this game, just as he will win the whole tournament. However, Carlsen did exactly what I said before the game that I hoped and thought he would do: beating P with a tactical, neat surprise... I think, as stated before the tournament, that he will come in 2nd or 3rd in this tournament and that his games (together with Moros) will be the most interesting and entertaining...

This said though, the Radjabov-imitation of Tal today was awesome...

Jul-24-06  DCP23: <TylerD>
I second that.
Jul-24-06  xenuthepilot: The cyborg kid will win..
Jul-24-06  spirit: carlsen cyborg...good name!

percyblakeney: Moro starting with two wins with black sounds a bit too good, so I'm guessing a draw here.

I3illieJoe: Go kid, destroy him !!
Jul-24-06  chess man: Where was Carlsen born? His biography left that out.
Jul-25-06  xenuthepilot: He was born(assembled) in the year 0 BC (Before Carlsen) and decided to invent a time machine to travel back to our times (637 BC) to save the world from the evil menace (Karajakin).
Jul-25-06  xenuthepilot: His real name is actually
MAGNUM C.A.R.L.S.E.N. (Cybernetic Artificial Robot Limited to Scientific Exploration and Nullification)

Chessgames Bookie: Current odds from the ChessBookie game show that Morozevich, even with the black pieces, is currently the favorite:

Carlsen 7:2
Morozevich 3:2
Draw 3:2

Jul-25-06  Bobak Zahmat: This should be really a great game! It is hard to say who will win this battle, but let's hope they have both some fighting spirit left like in the first game.
Jul-25-06  EeEk: <chess man> Magnus was born in the Norwegian city Třnsberg, the oldest city in Norway.
Jul-25-06  TylerD: If C plays 1e4 M might return to his once beloved French. If so, I think M will win.
Jul-25-06  Wilson H. L.: My bet is on Morozevich, although it's really hard to tell.
