Jul-27-06  zerathul: Ne4+ was a blunder
Jul-27-06  artemis: Oniyate: you still have to calculate your opponent's moves.
Jul-27-06  leonato13: this should be winning but, with how this ending has gone, who knows
Jul-27-06  percyblakeney: Radjabov's turn to go wrong now with Ne4+, he had a drawn position but now I'm less sure...

Marmot PFL: Not sure why black offered queen trade instead of pushing c pawn. He can't sac the knight for the g pawn and draw.
Jul-27-06  zerathul: Better was Ke6 with good drawing chances, now moro will win
Jul-27-06  leonato13: this has been an ugly game from like move 48 on, now we know why carlsen's games are broadcast live

MrMelad: <artemis> It is teoreticaly possible. A queen at the center of the board can move to 28 diffrent squares. But you are right, the rational moves are much less.

so, bishop+queen+pawn+king = (10+10+1+8)^6 = 29^6 = 594823321. Thats half a bilion moves. I'm just saying it's ludicrous to say that human do it better then computers.

Jul-27-06  Holden: <Isn't everybody's approach to the endgame is slightly different?> Yes, and most are wrong.
Jul-27-06  Oniyate: <artemis> Isnt that why I have an opponent?! This is drawn anyways. The king cant get involved as he would like to. Too many landmines laying around.
Jul-27-06  artemis: Mr Melad: I completely agree.

MrMelad: <half of those moves are YOURS> That's why I calculated it with the power of 6 and not 3. Maybe you are a strong player but you are not that strong in math...
Jul-27-06  duchamp64: Going to be fun watching the sudden death finish here!
Jul-27-06  artemis: oniyate: to have calculated two moves ahead, You will need to have your replies ready for all of your opponent's reasonable responses. Not just one. If you dont do that, then you have only calculated a single half move.
Jul-27-06  Oniyate: Well its also ridiculous to say that your great-grandmother^100 was an Orangutang, but most scientist agree.
Jul-27-06  percyblakeney: No, this should be drawn after all, what a game...
Jul-27-06  Sami Jr: 79. h5-h6 Go Moro, go...
Jul-27-06  artemis: oniyate: I fail to see the relevance of that comment.
Jul-27-06  cuendillar: Barring a major blunder, Carlsen is set to share the lead after this game. (With Radjabov if drawn, with Moro if he wins)
Jul-27-06  Oniyate: Its just to say that what some consider ridiculous, others consider fact. So unless someone can prove me wrong, Ill stand right.

MrMelad: <Well its also ridiculous to say that your great-grandmother^100 was an Orangutang, but most scientist agree> Though flamish, I must say it's not ridiculous. Evolution is pretty logical and rational. And what does it have to do with chess? You said something that I don't agree to, either make your point or leave!
Jul-27-06  spirit: radja should just resign...
Jul-27-06  JYMMI: Go ahead Moro!Go! GO!

boz: I think Moro should put his pawns on dark squares(g5 and h6) protected by his bishop, then walk his king over to the c pawn and take it.
Jul-27-06  duchamp64: Do they have increments added with each move? The clock is becoming a factor now.
