  notyetagm: 34 g6! Black f7-pawn <BLOCKS> f-file, Black h7-pawn <BLOCKS> h-file, so who defends the g6-square? Nobody.

The Black f7-pawn must stay on the f-file to <BLOCK> the f-file, while the Black h7-pawn must stay on the h-file to <BLOCK> the h-file.

Therefore neither the Black f7-pawn nor h7-pawn actually <DEFENDS> the g6-square, so 34 g6!.

After 34 g6! Black has only a desperate attempt at a perpetual, which fails.
