Oct-27-06		Aspirador: The computer says 24...Ka8!! and black is OK. 24...hxg3? seems to lose the game.

Re7+ Kb8 35. Rb3+ Ka8 36. Bb7+ Ka7/Kb8 37. Bxc6+. Does anyone see a more incisive continuation for white?

Oct-27-06		moodini: I don't see mate but I think white is at least a piece up: 30...Nc6 31. Be6+ Rd7 32. dxc7 and then 32...Rh7 33. Rxd7 Rxd7 34. Rd1 Ne5 35. Rxd7 Nxd7 36. c6 with a easy win. if black tries 32...Ne5 33.Rxd7 Nxd7 is followed by 34.Rb8+ winning a rook.

Oct-27-06		moodini: If 30...Ng6 31. Be6+ Rd7 32. Rb3 and I don't think black can avoid mate on b8. Black can play 32...Nf4+ and then various checks but I think in the end black's checks run out and white takes or blocks blacks pawns, black has to play Kd8 and white plays Rb8#. For example 33. Kg3 Rh3+ 34. KxN RxR 35. RxR and then white captures / blocks the pawns. However, I normally spot these lines and then sombody else sees a mate in 3...

Oct-27-06		kevin86: White's mate threats are so strong that black must give up two queens to stop the mate. Even then,black was only successful in staving off the mate, only to be caught later.

Oct-27-06		think: <khense> I also saw 30. c6. It looks much more forcing. The best I can see is: 30. c6 Rdg1 31. Bxa6+ Kd8 32. Rb8+ Nc8 33. Rxc8+ Ke7 34. Rxg8, which leaves White up a bishop.
