Oct-28-06  Pawsome: What a brilliant performance by Zhao Xue! Rxf6!! and Nd5!! are beauties. She lost to Etienne Bacrot today to go 3-1 in this tournament, but she still has a shot at winning her section. (10/28/06)
Oct-28-06  flamboyant: Wow, really exciting game! great mastery of tactics by Zhao Xue
Oct-28-06  syracrophy: Awesome win by Zhao!

A cheap try for a pun: "Zhao Koneru" :-)

Oct-29-06  Thrajin: <syracrophy>, can you explain that pun? I'm not getting it. :-)
Oct-29-06  s4life: zhao sounds like ciao or chao, italian or spanish for good bye.
Oct-29-06  s4life: holy cow... I just replayed the game.. that was a beautiful ending! Zhao Xue is playing in "the zone".
Oct-30-06  alicefujimori: A very nice display of tactics by Zhao Xue! 26...exd5 27.Ne6 d4 28.Nxd8 Rxd8 29.Qxg2 and with a piece followed by c5 black is totally lost.
Oct-30-06  Thrajin: <s4life> I understand how "zhao" is pronounced, since I speak Mandarin... maybe that's why I didn't get the pun. Too blinded by dogma? :-)
Oct-30-06  syracrophy: <<Thrajin: <syracrophy>, can you explain that pun? I'm not getting it. :-)>>

Let me explain it. "Ciao" is "good-bye" in italian language (something like that). So, I used "Zhao" instead of "Ciao". Then the pun means "Ciao Koneru". In italian: "Good-bye Koneru"

Mar-17-09  Ladolcevita: "zhao"sounds like"drao".....

But I dont know what does "ciao"sound like...

Anyway,I hope ZhaoXue would hold the next game versus Koneru well!

Mar-17-09  Ladolcevita: actually I cant really understand the dazzling part..
