Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-01-11  King Death: If Jones had time to play Kb1, so he could play cd when the knight on c5 captures on d3 (a typical idea from the Velimirovic Attack) and put off f5 and fe, he'd have had a decent game. The way this game went, he had no play in the center and not enough on the king side before Black came crashing through. The doubled e pawns look sickly, but they control a lot of nice central squares.

Black was one of the best players in the U.S.A. when this game was played. It was a treat to watch some of this tournament and see players like Petrosian going at it. We'll never see anybody like the Tiger again.
