Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-26-06  rjsolcruz: 13.f3 traps the knight of down under.
Dec-26-06  Silverstrike: <rjsolcruz> On move 13 white has a knight in f3, so I assume you mean white should play f3 on move 15 instead. If 15.f3, then after 15...Nxg3 16.Nxg3 Qxd4+ 17.Kg2 then the e5-pawn hangs, as does the h4-pawn, the black king is a little loose, and black will be able to shift the g3-knight with ...f4 followed by bringing the f8-rook (or perhaps both) into the game. It's certainly an interesting position with play for both sides, I'd prefer black thought. Of course, white is a piece up, and that could be a telling difference.
Apr-08-07  Dindo: 49... Qxa2, is a blunder then. It should have been a draw.
Feb-05-09  ChessEscudero: It should have been a draw. I can't believe Rogers let it slipped through his fingers.
Mar-05-13  iking: <Dindo: 49... Qxa2, is a blunder then. It should have been a draw.> GM Rogers does not offer short draws just like in the 80's ... he prefers to resign or be mated instead
Mar-06-13  SugarDom: I think Rogers took this loss personally.
Mar-06-13  kardopov: GM Rogers loathed this game. But what can he do? He loses to a young chess genius, Wesley So. He's harboring grudge feeling after a grudge match that happened 7 years ago.
