White says "Ouch!" and resigns... well, he probably doesn't, as for example 18.Kb1 Nh6 19.Rg1 Bd8 20.Be3 gets him a nice attack which might well be worth the sacrificed material. But I don't see anything immediately decisive, and wonder if Black resigned at all. After all, this was a correspondence game, strange things can happen.

  ToTheDeath: The game appears like this in Chesslab's database, and your line followed by 20... Qe6 seems defensible for Black. Strange indeed.
