Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-21-06  chesslearning: How about 23. h4 instead of h3?
Dec-22-06  actinia: 23. h4 ng4, threatening gxh4

if 24. hxg5 then qxg5, threatning h4 and removing the only defender of the now twice attacked f2-pawn. White can defend f2 with 25. Re2 say but then 25... h4 26. Bh2 f5 will open the f-file for black. Black's attack must now succeed because the white queen and knight are unable to rush back and defend while all black pieces participate in the attack

Dec-22-06  Atking: <chesslearning:> May be 23. ...Ng4 as 24.Nc4 gxh and 24.hxg5 Qxg5 still 25. ...h4 It looks already too late. At first sight White Queen in a4 is too far from the battle.
Dec-22-06  Dionyseus: <How about 23. h4 instead of h3?>

After 23.h4 black counters with 23...Ng4! threatening Bxf2+

23.h4 Ng4 24.Kf1 gxh4 25.f3 Ne3+ 26.Rxe3 hxg3 and white must lose the rook because of the Qh4 threat.

Dec-22-06  actinia: I think 21. Ba4? is a losing move, in light of the ensuing sequence for black, which is relatively forcing. Instead 21. kh1 avoids all the problems on the g1-b6 diagonal
Dec-22-06  Dionyseus: Possible improvement for white is 36.Rf1 Nf4 37.Kh1 Rf8 38.Ne3 Rb8 39.Rb1 but unfortunately white's d pawn would still fall.

Kateryna missed a nice mate in 11 in move 42 :

42...Kg7 43.Rc7+ Kf6 44.Rc8 Rf2 45.Ne3 Kf7 46.Rc7+ Kg6 47.Rc8 Ne2 48.Rg8+ Kf7 49.Rg7+ Kxg7 50.Nf5+ Kf8 51.Nxg3 hxg3 52.c4 Rh2 #

Dec-23-06  Gowe: This was an excellent game of Kateryna.
