  al wazir: If 51. Qc4+, then 51...Qc5. Now not 52. Qf7+ Kb6 53. h7 because of 53...Qh5+.
Feb-13-19  7he5haman: <al wazir> in your line 53...Qh5+ drops the Black queen after 54.Qxh5.

As I went through the game I also considered 51.Qc4+, which looks like White's best drawing chance, practically speaking

Feb-13-19  7he5haman: I guess White felt he was doing well after 36.Nf5+, but either 36.Nc4 or 36.Qb2 look much more sensible.
Feb-13-19  morfishine: <al wazir> If I follow you correctly, <53...Qh5+> loses to <54.Qxh5> (since White Queen is on <f7>)
Feb-13-19  Count Wedgemore: Nice pun, <SugarDom>.
Feb-13-19  Cheapo by the Dozen: The engine likes 36 Rc2, and gives White a +2 in the position. It thinks the knight sacrifice was a disaster.

On the other hand, it agrees that White's offer of a bishop around Move 12 was sound.
