Phony Benoni: This game is a strong candidate for the next edition of <How Not to Play Chess>. When he feels compelled to give up a piece on move 23, Black has made:

4 pawn moves
1 king move
1 bishop move
<17> knight moves

He never does find the time to move a rook.

Dec-27-19  sea7kenp: Black may not have moved his Rooks, but is in danger of losing one of them: If 33 ... Kxf6, 34 Be5+. If he doesn't take the Pawn, there are lots of threats.
Dec-06-20  Messiah: Whenever I see this kind of "puns", it really makes me wonder why my equally horrific entry 'Our Base is Under a Tack' from A Widenmann vs L Tack, 1985 could not make it ever.

The opening chaos is very nice and highly interesting in the current game, it could be analyzed extensively, still without being able to decide unambiguously which player had more precision. Are we 100% confident that this game was played under classical time controls?

Phony Benoni: <Messiah> Anyone who sends in puns has experienced the frustration of seeing their ingenious submission ignored while weak puns on bad games get used. Fortunately we all think differently, and every day is unique. What can we do about quantum randomness?

I fully admit this is not a very good pun, of a type I don't normally care for. But sometimes I'll do anything to bring an interesting or funny game to people's attention.

As you point out, Blac had some interesting ideas, but they just didn't work out. Sort of like submitting puns.

Dec-06-20  Brenin: Playing through this game, and observing the Brownian motion on Black's side of the board, I was reminded of the Joyce Grenfell monologue <Nursery school free activity period> ("George, don't do that").
Dec-06-20  morfishine: <Messiah: Whenever I see this kind of "puns", it really makes me wonder why my equally horrific entry 'Our Base is Under a Tack' from A Widenmann vs L Tack, 1985 could not make it ever> Thats the nature of the flawed GOTD. Submitting is not the issue, its how the so-called "vote" goes

Kind of reminds me of the 2020 US presidential election

Its not the vote that counts

Its who counts the votes

And 10 years from now you'll still be whining "We was robbed!"

Four years ago you gave liberals good advice: "Clinton lost, get over it."

So now I will give you conservatives equally good advice: "Trump lost, get over it."

An Englishman: Good Morning: One of the more entertaining gambits I've seen in a while. Don't mean to sound so old-fashioned, but perhaps 4...d5 would have worked better. Of course, if Hodgson knew Black never played the French Defense, that might have dictated his choice of opening.
Dec-06-20  ajile: This game made me laugh. White's DSB really REALLY wanted to stay on d6.

LOL!
