Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-20-07  percyblakeney: It felt as if there should have been a win somewhere in that endgame for Jakovenko, but maybe there never was one. Pretty finish by Novikov.
Feb-21-07  Ashram64: really nice play for the draw...good quiz material
Feb-22-07  jmrulez2004: If 74....Rxg3 75.Rb2+! the black king has to leave and then he loses his rook.
Mar-05-07  SonghaoLi: It feels like every white move after the first time control is forced. chessbase.com describes Novikov's effort to save the game as "heroic" and I have to concur.
Mar-05-07  Plato: It's especially impressive to salvage an endgame like this against Jakovenko, whose technical precision in the endgame is well documented.
