Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-04-07  Knight13: There it is again. Svidler the Drawmaster. Except that this time he gave a fight before giving in a draw.
Mar-04-07  Phaethon: I think it was more Ivanchuk who gave the fight.
Mar-04-07  Knight13: <Phaethon> Yes, I agree.
Mar-04-07  sheaf: playing with black pieces with arguably the best player of the tournament ( he got very promising positions against all the players ) what else do you expect, and its not as if he had a choice here;
Mar-04-07  Knight13: <sheaf: playing with black pieces with arguably the best player of the tournament ( he got very promising positions against all the players ) what else do you expect, and its not as if he had a choice here;> What's the difference between a 2728 and a 2750?
Mar-04-07  Monoceros: One's divisible by ten, the other isn't.
Mar-05-07  somitra: A difference of 22 to be more precise. :D
Mar-05-07  sanyas: Yes, precisely a difference of 22...

Getting promising positions isn't the same as winning games. Ivanchuk isn't the best player of the tournament, or he would be at the top of the table.

Mar-05-07  sheaf: i wasnt talking about ratings but rather about an in form ivanchuk who is playing very well, he had winning positions against leko, anand, topa(2wice), aronian and he couldnt convert them due to time trouble so i am not entirely incorrect when i say that he played the best chess in linares-morelia. svidler on the other had a quite tournament and = is the expected score from him anyway so I dont think he is playing bad here.
