Mar-07-07 | | botvinnik64: You guys know that Joseph gallo just ppassed away?! |
Mar-07-07 | | hitman84: <boz>Yes, I feel Aronian is playing safe or maybe that is the only reasonable plan for balck. |
Mar-07-07 | | Jack Kerouac: I'm waiting for Anand to uncork a good one. |
Mar-07-07 | | jeremy24: black can play Ra8-a4 with pressure on the queenside |
Mar-07-07 | | Jack Kerouac: Aronian seems to have Anand bottled up. |
Mar-07-07 | | Gypsy: At a second look, I think Black is a tiny bit better. (Mostly equal and drawish though.) |
Mar-07-07 | | THE pawn: I think Aronian simply wants to fight over the a-file, the only attacking option right now. I think Anand will simply go for Qb2 with Ra1 in mind. Honestly I don't know what to play, perhaps if it was me I would go for h3 and see what my opponent has in mind, but it's probably too slow. |
Mar-07-07 | | boz: <Jack Kerouac> Yes, but Anand's position should age very well. |
Mar-07-07 | | jeremy24: Anand would love to "uncork" d4 here...beat this wine pun to death... |
Mar-07-07 | | boz: If Anand plays d4 Black will undouble his e-pawns and after exchanges get a passed b-pawn. |
Mar-07-07 | | sravann: I think white's strategy would be simple. Exchange pawns enough, to create a fractured pawn structure for balck and start attacking the isolated pawns. The black king looks exposed along the diagonal, but it should be very hard to exploit such small weaknesses. |
Mar-07-07 | | THE pawn: I don't wanna bring this, but I think it will be a draw. It's hard to make any progress, and at the same time it's hard to make any serious mistake. I think right now I would hold the position against a GM. |
Mar-07-07 | | botvinnik64: Anand has mellowed with age... |
Mar-07-07 | | Jack Kerouac: <The Pawn> I agree. Anand has nothing to lose by drawing with his lead. |
Mar-07-07 | | hitman84: <I think white's strategy would be simple. Exchange pawns enough, to create a fractured pawn structure for balck and start attacking the isolated pawns. The black king looks exposed along the diagonal, but it should be very hard to exploit such small weaknesses.> <sravann>Yes, that is the reason why Aronian is trying to exchange the rooks. |
Mar-07-07 | | adf: think this is a draw, according to the pictures on the official page |
Mar-07-07 | | sravann: The game still has a lot of life in it. I was dissappointed yesterday, that Anand did not push for a win. I would be dissappointed today, if they agree for an early draw. |
Mar-07-07 | | THE pawn: draw. As I said. |
Mar-07-07
 | | chessgames.com: Draw is official. We will switch over to another board in just a minute. |
Mar-07-07 | | THE pawn: Yippi! |
Mar-07-07 | | boz: Anand is hoping Topalov will take the kid out. |
Mar-07-07 | | Jack Kerouac: Our kibitz IQ's must be going up. |
Mar-07-07
 | | WannaBe: This game costed me a lot of chess bucks... =( |
Mar-07-07 | | Ulhumbrus: It may be that keeping the d pawn back on d3 and not playing d4 enables Black to equalize by the move ...Be6, because White cannot then combine Bxe6 with dxe5, so as to inflict isolated doubled e pawns on Black, as in the following game: Fischer vs Smyslov, 1965 |
Mar-07-07 | | Atking: The beautifull Anand vs Kasimdzhanov 1-0 at San Luis was more convincing. As leader of Linares, Anand was probably contented with a draw. |
