Monoceros: Ouch! In this patzer's eyes, Vallejo played this game like a beginner who doesn't know how to do anything but make random, meaningless threats.

11. Rg1 (if ...Qxh2 then 12. Rxg7! It all evens out!) 11...Qxh2
12. Ke2 (uh, maybe not.)

15. Rg5 (hah, forked him! Take that!)
15...Bxe3+ (no, no, don't take that, you're spoiling everything!)

25. Qxf6+ (I just want to get out of here...)

Mar-20-07  Manequinho: You take my knight, I take yours!
Mar-20-07  Shajmaty: <Ashram64: holy cow... i bet vallejo-pons totally forget where everything is> He thought Svidler had played 23...Ke8 instead of 23...Rhe8.
Mar-22-07  ztnepres: ty shajmaty.. makes perfect sense for him to have tho he leave the threatened e7 check
Mar-25-07  sheaf: <ughaibu> 24 e5 dxe5 25 fxe5 Kf8! now if exf6 then Qh2+ Kf1 Rxd3 seems to be a winning attack with white pieces too far from the king to defend it. the idea behind e5 is to deflect the f6 knight in order to obtain a winning royal fork which doesnt seem to work here, white pieces are too slow and uncoordinated to counter the active black pieces.
Mar-25-07  ughaibu: Sheaf: Okay, I see, thanks.
