May-10-07  fictionist: Finally! Thank you CG for posting this game. I have hoped for a long time for this to be entered in your database. Lesser mortals would learn something from this game, which is a good example on how to exploit a simple mistake.

Black hallucinates that he wins a pawn but the killer Qg4! ends the game quickly. taking the queen ends in mate(Rxe8) while defending the g5-bishop by ...Ne6 still loses a piece. 17...Rxe4 18.Qxd7 Rxd4 19.Qe8#

Jun-05-07  Manic: Indeed, <fictionist>, nice miniature by Svidler. Of course 14...Nxe4?? was a mistake. 14.Bg5 was the novelty according the the database. 14.Nf5 is common. 17.Qg4! is a nice silent killer.
