Kibitzer's Corner
Aug-14-07  Maynard5: White's 12. N1d2 and 13. Ba4 are too aggressive, and result in the position being opened before he has been able to complete his development. Instead, 12. Ng3 followed by 0-0 appear to offer good prospects for an eventual advance on the kingside. Kopec's preferred deployment against the Sicilian is notable in that it often leads to closed positions reminiscent of variations in the Ruy Lopez, so White would be justified in pursuing a similar strategy here.
