Jun-07-07  mrbasso: <34 Ne4 attacking c5 and f6 is better according to Fritz>

33.Ne4 isn't better, It's worse . Black plays 33...Bxe4 34.Qxe4 Rd6 and Re6. The position is dead draw =0.00

Jun-07-07  kingsindian2006: or even on move 19 Nd7 putting queen and rook in danger.. and queen can go down h file after rook is taken..just thoughts
Jun-07-07  whatthefat: <Ezzy>

Thanks for your ongoing analyses, but please, <must of> = <must HAVE>!

Jun-07-07  Ezzy: <whatthefat: <Ezzy>

Thanks for your ongoing analyses, but please, <must of> = <must HAVE>!> LOL

As Tartakower said - "I make errors therefor I am"

Marmot PFL: <Shirov must of been playing with Fritz for his preparation.>

They all use comps, but Shirov would hardly need one to find 13g4.

Jun-08-07  Ezzy: <Marmot PFL: They all use comps, but Shirov would hardly need one to find 13g4> Yeah, he's a great inventive player!
Jun-08-07  Ezzy: <whatthefat: Thanks for your ongoing analyses,> Thanks for the correction, but please - Analysis :-)

kellmano: <Ezzy> Your comments on games are truly top notch, but must of is nothing like must've and analyses is the plural of analysis.

Shows your not copying anyone at least. In fact, I believe a certain Mr Keene copies you!

Jun-08-07  Ezzy: <and analyses is the plural of analysis.> It is, but <whatthefat> still used it in the wrong context.

If he said = "He analyses games" that would be correct.

To say - "thanks for the ongoing analyses" is incorrect.

<In fact, I believe a certain Mr Keene copies you!> Yeah, that made my day. I don't know why he singled me out, because there are many amazing kibitzers on this site, with great comments and analysis skills.

<kellmano: <Ezzy> Your comments on games are truly top notch,> To write such positive things about another person shows that you are a 'top notch' kinda guy. Many thanks.

kellmano: Sorry to be a pedant, but there you are using analyses as a verb. It is also a plural of the noun analysis (pronounced analysEEs).

Analyses is to analysis what writings is to writing (here again talking about the nouns) or as contributions is to contribution. Therefore, when he thanks you for your ongoing analyses, he is gramatically correct.

I think.

Jun-08-07  Ezzy: <I think.> LOL. I was starting to believe your amazing explanation until this sense of doubt crept in. :-)

I'm not sure - Is there any one out there who knows.

I think you may be right <Kellmano>. Oh well, thought I might have got one back on <whatthefat> there.

I'll take my medicine this time. :-(

Jun-08-07  sanyas: White's attacking chances after 19...Qc8 should not be underestimated. For example 19...Qc8 20.Rxe7 Bc6 21.g6 hxg6 22.Bf4 Bb5 23.a4 Qa6 24.Ra3 Bxe2 25.Bg5 Nd6 26.Nxg6 fxg6 27.Rxg7+ Kxg7 28.Qh6+ Kf7 29.Re3.

<kingsindian2006> 19.Nxd7?? Bc6. The knight is pinned.

<kellmano> "your" in the second sentence should have been "you're".

Jun-08-07  sanyas: <Ezzy> kellmano is right.
Jun-08-07  Ezzy: <sanyas: <Ezzy> kellmano is right.> Yes, I jumped the gun and shot myself in the foot.

Nevermind, my mother still loves me.

Jun-08-07  cheski: Any idea on 33.Ne4 (rather than 33.Nc4 as in the text)?

I reckon White could have won.

Jun-08-07  cheski: <Ezzy:>
I see you went there as well.
Want to play it out?
Jun-08-07  kingsindian2006: sanyas > how can you say the knight is pinned after it goes to D7? if it takes the rook on the next move queen is in danger?...look at the board before saying anything
Jun-08-07  argishti: How did Aronian stop Shirov???

wooow.

Jun-09-07  Atking: <kingsindian2006: <sanyas> how can you say the knight is pinned after it goes to d7? if it takes the rook on the next move queen is in danger?...> I think <sanyas> answered correctly to your suggestion 19.Nxd7? Bc6 You can't move easily this Knight 20.Nf6+? NxNf6 21.RxQd8 RfxRd8 Black is B+N+R vs Q and a more secured King. Else 20.Qg4 Qc8 isn't bad for Black. <Ezzy: <sanyas: <Ezzy> kellmano is right.> Yes, I jumped the gun and shot myself in the foot.> Before please... add on your always welcome analysis <24.Qxa7? Ra8 25.Qb6 Bd8> First I was jocking myself with the funny 25. ...Ra6 26.Qb8+ Rc8 27.Qa7 Ra8... time to play Bd8
Jun-09-07  sanyas: <Atking> erm, actually Black wins outright, eg. 20.Nxf8 Qxd1#, or 20.Nf6+ Bxf6 21.Rxd8 Rxd8 and the bishop is immune due to mate, or 20.Qg4 Bd6 and now 21.Rxd6 Nxd6 22.Nxf8 Qxf8 leaves Black a piece up, or 21.Ne5 Bxe5 22.Rxd8 Rxd8 and only a little skill is required in handling about twelve pawns worth of material versus a queen, or 21.Nxf8 Bxh2+ 22.Kxh2 Qxd1 23.Nxh7 Qh1+ 24.Kg3 Qg2+ 25.Kh4 Qxf2+ 26.Qg3 (26.Kh5 g6+; 26.Kh3 Rd8) Qxe2.
Jun-09-07  Atking: <sanyas> Read my post again. <Kingindian2006> needs more than your again to short <<19.Nd7<??> Bc6> N pinned> an explanation. I did it to say with more delicacy. I read also <your> analysis on the game Aronian vs Carlsen. Quite long indeed. What's your engine? Finally I keep my main point. When a GM like M Dugly said how much he was impressed by that game, your first reaction was to show the errors noted by your program. That's ok. You can work with machine. Many do that in this site. But as for example <Ezzy> every body knows <34 Ne4 attacking c5 and f6 is better according to Fritz >. That's honest and shows some modesty.
Jun-09-07  whatthefat: <Ezzy: Thanks for the correction, but please - Analysis :-)>

No, I meant the plural, since you've been annotating every game.

Jun-09-07  Ezzy: <No, I meant the plural, since you've been annotating every game.> Yeah, I thought I had you there, but you proved smarter this time.

I'm tightening the noose as I speak :-)

See you later. Have a good weekend.

Jun-09-07  whatthefat: <Ezzy>

No worries. I'll have to watch my step. :)

Jun-09-07  veigaman: It has been a very good match until now, full of energy and dinamic and hopefully we will have an exciting finish to enjoy.

Tomorrow game can be the key!
