benjinathan: <OhioChessFan> Thanks for that. It has been bugging me too.
May-22-08  Eurotrash: I consider this game a win for us. 1-0. Unless there has been a serious error on chessgames.com's part.
May-22-08  zanshin: <benjinathan: <OhioChessFan> Thanks for that. It has been bugging me too.>

I see I'm not alone. It's an old topic and we have no grounds for believing that our esteemed opponent would resort to cheating.

rinus: A few days ago part of the Dutch internet was down (KPN / XS4ALL)
May-22-08  Pawnsgambit: no reply from <chessgames> yet. May be chessgames is trying to contact GMT (making a phone call to GMT residence in Netherlands)and getting no reply. Lets wait and watch what <CG> has to say. I do not mind giving benifit of doubt to Timmerman if has forgotten the day or his internet is down. I want to play till the end

I agree. He is a gentleman for playing this game. Besides even if was cheating (which I am sure he would not do) we would never know it so there is absolutely no sense talking about it. As it is, CG has gone to extraordinary lengths to ensure the secrecy of this forum. I mean was it really necessary to show three dots rather than than the start of the most recent post when the cursor hovers over this game at the recent kibitzing colum?

OhioChessFan: All the young bucks here who grew up in the computer age think waiting 20 seconds for a page to load is an eternity. The thought of waiting DAYS! or WEEKS!! or MONTHS!!! for anything is an alien concept. I will accept this as a lesson in patience and continue on with my life and learning.

YouRang: It is possible that GMT's mechanism for entering moves is broken. If so, then IMO, cg.com should try to contact GMT, find out the move, and post it immediately (instead of waiting until noon EDT tomorrow).

Still, it's disappointing to see no move after 3 days of waiting...

YouRang: What to do while waiting?

May-22-08  DanLanglois: Yes, I might make one more move, at least.

truefriends: From the fact that he took his last extension at move 40 and still played on, i presume he will play on a few more moves. Else he should have resigned at move 40 if he tought he was 100% lost.

Stonehenge: Maybe GMT wanted to play ...Nc1 but his wife told him to play ...c4, and they are now fighting about it.

I agree. The only thing i can think of is GMJT's internet connection is down. Else he (or CG) could just send a simple email.
