Jul-09-07  tal lover: Incredible blunder that Korchnoi made, looks like that with a good defense Korchnoi could draw the game.
Jul-09-07  syracrophy: Correct me if I'm wrong. Did White resigned because of 22...Qe1+ 23.Bf1 Bxe4?
Jul-09-07  hkannan2000: I think it is because of 22..B*e4!
Jul-09-07  likestofork: <syracrophy> That'd be good enough, wouldn't it? After 23....Bxe4 24. Qe2 or Qd2 because of the threat 24....Qxf2. Black captures Q on either d2 or e2, white recaptures, Black plays Bd5, and picks up another pawn on b2. I'm thinking even Rybka would have difficulty given White's position at that point. At least until Version 3.0.

Marmot PFL: The years take their toll. Korchnoi still has good days, but obviously some that aren't so good.
Aug-04-07  alexandrovm: with Bxe4 white position falls apart...
Aug-15-07  kaligula: to <likestofork> well i think that in your line uoy made a mistake cause after 23..Bxe4 24.Qe2 black mustn't play 24...Bxf2... but they can simply play 24... Bxd3 ! and if 25. Qxd3 then 25...Qe1+ 26.Qf1 Bxf2+! 27.Kh1 Qxf1 mate
