Jul-28-07   savagerules: Well done Ulf! Your opponent is rated about 100 pts lower than you and you really played your heart out going for the win. Not! Wonder how many minutes this game took to play? Another one for the epic soon to be released book- Volume 1 Miniature Draws with White by Ulf Andersson
Jul-29-07   AlexandraThess: Maybe he was not aware of his oppont's strength and that's why he decided not to waste time and energy. Another logical explanation that flashes through my mind is that he might be exhausted.

Karpova: I agree with you, Ulf could have been exhausted. This was played in the third round and Ulf had two epic battles the days before: Korchnoi vs Ulf Andersson, 2007
Ilincic vs Ulf Andersson, 2007
This guy really takes it to the limit

I'm sorry, but what's "epic" about those two games? One is a draw in 20, the other one is a draw in 18. I am an admirer of Ulf Andersson, but find it hard to believe those two games exhausted a GM of his caliber. Was he ill?
