This game is interesting. Stockfish confirms that White would have been on the losing side of things had he gone in for either

A) 42. Kf2 Qg3+ 43. Kxe2 Qxg2+ 44. Kd3 Qg3+ 45. Kc2 Qxh4 46. Qb3 Rd8

or

B) 42. Kf1 Qe3 43. Rh8+ Kxh8 44. Qb2+ Nc3 45. Nxc3 Qe5 46. Qb7 Qf4+ 47. Kg1 Qe3+ 48. Kh2 Rxa7

LTJ

PS. I have never seen Victor/Victoria, but judging by what it says on wikipedia about it, I doubt it is better than La Cage aux Folles.

An Englishman: Good Evening: 852nd! All jesting aside, there are a few interesting pawn sacrifices in the game: first the declined sacrifice after 19...Qxd5 where White shuns the b4 pawn; and the second is the "vacating sacrifice" 35...e4, which opens the e5 square for the Queen and seems to secure enough counterplay for the draw.

HeMateMe: Another great pun, referencing the Blake Edwards film of the early 1980s. I think the film is about a woman who is playing a man, playing a woman. I think.

Jul-19-12  goodevans: Thought white might have had something better than <41.Rxh4>. If there is then I can't find it.

The obvious <41.Nc3 Qxc3 42.Qb8+> loses to <42...Kg7 43.Qxa8 Qe1+>.
