Oct-14-07  Treadhead57: Would 9. Nxc6, bxc 10. O-O have been better for white? I don't understand why castle queen side this position. I don't have a chess engine to analyze this. Can someone plug this into their engine. Thanks.

patzer2: Don't need a computer to see that 35. f5?? loses to 35...Qg1! with a winning double attack, threatening the loose Rook and mate.

Instead, 35. Ra8! still somewhat holds the balance, since 35. Qa8 Qg1?? now fails to 36. Qxh5#. Also 35. Ra8! Rxh4 36. Rf8! Rh1 37. Qb8! may just be enough to force a draw by repetition with 37...Qe6 38. Re8 Qd7 39. Rd8 Qe6 40. Re8 Qd7 41. Rd8 Qe6 42. Re8 =.
