Oct-19-09  areknames: The Player of The Day GM Ralf Lau gets absolutely murdered with an unusual version of the smothered mate. Could be a good Monday or Tuesday puzzle.
Oct-20-09  gus inn: It is not french def. but Owens.4..Nf6 is a miniblunder as 4..Bb4 is known to equalize,at least.

  tpstar: 12 ... Kxf7 13. Qe6+ Kf8 14. Bg6 and Black can delay mate on f7 for only one move (14 ... Ne5 15. dxe5 & 16. Qf7#).
