Phony Benoni: Yes, I suppose that's how the British felt about the whole business.

I don't suppose White's exchange sacrifice either wins or loses by force. But it does make Black's task more difficult. Chess is hard enough without the little muckies getting loose and squirming all over the place.

  FSR: 18...dxe5?! was Black's un-improvement on the 18...Rc8 of K Grigorian vs Beliavsky, 1975 (1/2-1/2, 41).

FSR: <Phony Benoni> After 15...f6, White scores just over 52%. Opening Explorer Not very impressive, and it always surprises me that it's not higher. As the present game illustrates, the position is very tricky for Black. And White too, judging by the statistics. White scores much better (58.8%) with the pawn sac 14.Rc1. Opening Explorer But if Black finds 14...Bxa2 15.Qa4 Bb3! 16.Qb4 b6, Black scores 63.9%! Opening Explorer
Jul-07-14  kevin86: Sounds like the old joke: Who had the craziest food habits?

John the Baptist: locusts and wild honey OR

Martin Luther: Diet of Worms.

Looks like a great embarrassment for the black queen.

Expected to see more fireworks on July 4th.
