plang: 7 Bb5+ is a specialty of Rozentalis.
7..Bd7 has been the most popular response but after 8 e6!?..Bxb5 9 Qh5 white has active play. 7..Nc6 had been rarely played but it seems like a good alternative. Sadler felt that 8 Nf3 was necessary transposing into a main line. In 1990 Tukmakov had played 14..g6 against Rozentalis and had drawn easily. 14..Bf5 is a clear improvement. Sadler suggested 17 Be3 as an improvement, though even here, black is clearly better. Sadler's clever 18..e4! led to the elimination of white's cramping d pawn and to a position where black's were clearly more active. 23..Rfd8 threatened 24..Nc2. 25 Re3 was necessary to continue the game though white is much worse. After the blunder 25 Rb1?..Nb5 white lost quickly. If 28 Qa4..Rd4.
