  patzer2: After the weak 10...Qf6? Black's second blunder after 11. Qd2! Na6?? allows the trapped piece combination 12. Bg5! Qd4 13. Be7 . I suppose the 2007 Hasting's winner might have seen the possibility of this little tactic to win the exchange, but decided instead to play positionally to win a key pawn and eventually the game after 12. Ne4 .

However, to me the possibility of winning an immediate exchange with no downside looks pretty good.
