Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-17-11  zev22407: It looks like a too easy win against a super gm Beliavsky
Mar-17-11  joupajou: Here's the final position.

If 31. ..Rxf6 32.Ne4

Maybe it all started to fall down for black after in this position he played 21. ..Qd7.

White bishop in f4 and queen in g3 sure look dangerous, but protecting the d6 pawn with 21. ..Ne8 might have been a better bet.

White's game still looks a little better, so how to keep pushing now?

22. Nb5/Rd1? Bxc2 - nah, no good.

22. Re1 is much better, maybe I'd try this one. Here's what this position looks like.

Black has to move his queen, but not too far away from his bishop in f5. So, it's 22. ..Qf6/Qf7/Qf8. Don't know which one of those moves is best for black, but I'd play 22. ..Qf7. This move gives the knight in e8 some more options.

In any case Fedorov played well, hats off!

Mar-17-11  shalgo: This game must be mislabeled. Fedorov wasn't even born until 1972. Perhaps it was Vladislav Fedorov?

According to this page (http://al20102007.narod.ru/team_ch/...), a V. Fedorov played in the tournament.
