Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-16-08  offramp: A quiet start for these two but I am hoping they'll be right up at the top of this tournament soon.
Feb-16-08  Abejorral: There is something clear for me, while i like most fo the sicilians, closed variations are extremely boring, like this one.
Feb-16-08  dramas79: Is it just me or should Ivanchuk have tried 38...Kg6 and played on? I feel that his pieces arer slightly better placed here.

whiteshark: Interestingly enough white is acting against the 'guideline' <to capture toward the center> by playing <13 cxb3>.

Feb-24-08  dramas79: <whiteshark> Yes, its a dead draw.
Mar-06-08  podjevsky: <whiteshark: Interestingly enough white is acting against the 'guideline' <to capture toward the center> by playing <13 cxb3>> This is quite common in a lot of Sicilian variations. The c-file usually belongs to black and by capturing cxb3 you remove blacks target. He still owns the file though but you can focus on attacking on the kingside instead of protecting pawns:)
