Jun-22-10  ChessYouGood: This strikes me as a very simple and logical response to the smith morra, a speculative gambit only played by over optimistic chess fiends who rather rely on black playing awkwardly. Note that black is only rated 2300ish.

  FSR: I love seeing the Smith-Morra get manhandled. Here, Black notches a 300+ point upset.

He was likely 1637 instead, which in our part of the USA, means he was at least 2100 strength, especially if he faced <The. Greatest. Player. Ever.>, who would utterly crush him.
