Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-27-11  Ulhumbrus: After 31 d6 Black has no answer to the threat of d7 followed by Rf7-e7-e8 and d7-d8 eg 31...Rd4 32 d7 Kg8 33 Re7 Kf8 34 Re8+ Kf7 37 d7-d8/Q winning
May-23-12  shalgo: The Reti-like 17...Qa8? was a blunder, allowing the following combination.

In turn, 21.Nd7 was much stronger than the game continuation, winning at least the exchange because of lines like 21...Bxe4 22.Qxe4 Rd8 (22...Rc8 23.Nxb6) 23.Nxf6+ Bxf6 24.Qg3+ and 25.Qxc7.

After 21.Bxe4? Black was fine until 26...Rxg3?

Instead 26...Qe3+ 27.Qf2 Qxf2+ 28.Kxf2 Nd5 is at least equal for Black, who has a good knight against a bad bishop.

Even then, the rook ending was just difficult for Black until he played 30...Rxe4??, when he is going to lose a rook for the d-pawn.
