Mar-24-08  ahmadov: Any comment on inaccuracies on both sides are highly appreciated...
Mar-24-08  fictionist: First to post after you, Zahir! :) I might try my manual analyses on this game. :)
Mar-24-08  fictionist: It looks like you played this well, Zahir. You just took advantage of your opponent's weaknesses and went on to win the game.
Mar-25-08  ahmadov: <fictionist: It looks like you played this well, Zahir. You just took advantage of your opponent's weaknesses and went on to win the game.> Thanks very much for detailed analysis, Rich! ;-)
Mar-25-08  Silverstrike: Would 47.g7 have won quicker?
Mar-27-08  fictionist: Yes, <Silverstrike>. But Zahir just wanted to be more brutal. :)
Mar-27-08  ahmadov: <Silverstrike: Would 47.g7 have won quicker?> I do not think so...

Mar-27-08  ahmadov: <fictionist: Yes, <Silverstrike>. But Zahir just wanted to be more brutal. :)> Not, actually :-) I just wanted it to be more interesting...
Mar-27-08  Silverstrike: I thought that 47.g7 would force 47...Kf7 48.Rxd6 followed by Rd8 and g8Q where white keeps the rook in addition to gaining a queen. It's all irrelevant, as you won nicely anyway. :)

However, something in me said that my opponent would resign if I captured the Bishop to promote to the Queen... So, I took this as the quickest way to finish him off... :-)

Were you surprised that your opponent played 6....f6, which is known to be bad due to the exchanges on e5 which wins a pawn?

Aug-10-18  ahmadov: <GrahamClayton>, thanks for asking these questions. I think I do not remember this game anymore :-)

As for 6....f6, I think even today I find it normal, but I might be wrong. Meanwhile, why do we not play a game of chess, let's say, on gameknot.com?
