Gilmoy: The mutual fianchettos results in a bunch of Knights hanging over the coals in the middle. 12.b3 13.Bf4 might be the first crack in the armor -- White has "weak long diagonal", inviting complications.

13..Qb6 gets them started -- it's a (twice!)-hidden double on Nd4. 14.Bxd6 Nxe4! is a KID theme to recover a pawn -- here it works because of a mazy progression of mutual threats. 15..Nxe5 hangs, but uncovers the double on Nd4. 17.Bxe4 walks into another hidden double -- 18..Bxf2+ wins a pawn. 19.Qxf2 because her Be4 is lost regardless, and a Q trade would favor Black.

19.Kxf2 Rxe4 looked ghastly for White after Bg4, Rae8, maybe Qb5 to avoid a Q trade, etc.

percyblakeney: 34. ... gxf4 does seem to win also, but maybe not faster than the game continuation because of Rxh7+ followed by Rxh3. Later Bosboom-Lanchava got the chance to draw with 63. Re5 followed by rook exchange and a drawn endgame but missed it and lost.
