Apr-16-08   Libispusher: What is best for white after 28...Qf6

Dindo: Libis, I think the best move for white is Be4, guarding the f3 square. I am not sure of black's next move after that. One thing I know is that black's king is expose and trap at h-file. I agree with you that 28... Qf6 is the best possible defense for black at that time. But who knows what are these 2 genuises saw that we didin't see, or maybe it is just a bad move for black.
Apr-18-08   D.Observer: This position is a zugzwang, isn't it? 34. ... Kf7 35. Be6+ Ke7 36. Rg7+ Kf6 37. Qd8+ and a skewer results.

zanshin: <dindo> <libis> As you have pointed out, Black blundered with <28...Rf6>. I also mention this is Wesley's forum. Best play seems to be <28...Qf6 29.Be4> where the game is even.

Jan-06-09   shintaro go: Wesley was quite lucky to escape with a win here.
Apr-16-09   KERESOV: A Superb Game ! An Incredible Display of Tactics and more Tactics ! As Petrosian once said, " Indecisiveness is evil " so here in this wonderful tactical slugfest, Wesley kept his head clear and maintained the initiative throughout inspite of the maze of complications he went through. Excellent Focus and deep concentration are the hallmarks of young GM Wesley So !
