  der623: 40. f5+ is a nice piece of deflection winning material. If the king captures the pawn (or goes to e5), the Bishop is lost. If the rook captures, Black will play a2 and White's rook cannot get back to the first rank before the pawn queens, and the Bb4 bishop guards the a5 square.

41. Kd4 blocks the rook from getting to the first rank. On 41. Kf3, after Black plays a2, White can go 42. Rd1, but Black can play Ra3 and Bc3 (Which White can't stop because the Be3 Bishop is pinned), and the Rook will be lost to the pawn.
