Jul-22-08  pawn to QB4: 15.f4, described by Em. Lasker as "one of the deepest sacrifices this side of the Evergreen Game", Abrahams tells us with pardonable pride.
Mar-06-10  Cibator: Cited by Abrahams himself as his favourite game. His opponent, all but forgotten nowadays, was another of those very strong British amateurs who preferred not to make chess their living, but who nonetheless played at or close to master standard.

BTW: can anyone cite the source for that comment of Lasker's? He was not the sort of man to be extravagant with his praise.

GrahamClayton: White could have also won with 20. ♔e2, but Abrahams played 20. 0-0-0 to show that castling can also be an attacking move, rather than a defensive move.

PeterGrant: I played against Gerald Abrahams in the sixties in the Lancashire (UK) county championship, needless to say I lost. I also worked next to a Graham Clayton at British Aerospace, who emigrated to Australia, maybe the same person?

Not the same person :-)
