Kibitzer's Corner
May-16-08  RookFile: I think Vigorito must have hallucinated. It's probably good enough in the endgame to shuttle the bishop between g3 and e1 or something. Even if black wins the f pawn, and gives up the rook for the bishop and h pawn, it's still a drawn king and rook pawn vs. king ending. And I would think that since the bishop can shuttle between g3 and e1, white can't play to just mate black (with essentially king and rook vs. king), because white cannot force black's king to move to a deadly square (since he has bishop moves instead to avoid the usual zugwang stuff you have in king and rook vs. king.)

Too bad.
