Shams: they played chess in Nebraska in 1909??
Feb-13-10  pericles of athens: <Xeroxx: I think 19.g3 is not very good for white.> Indeed! As an amazingly gifted, naturally talented positional player I find it very difficult to believe that capa played this game. His judgement and ability were just too good for him to play such a move. Therefore, it seems this game is mistakenly attributed to him. Furthermore, what on earth would capa be doing in Nebraska?

Phony Benoni: In his early years, Capablanca made several tours of the United States giving simultaneous exhibitions. This game was undoubtedly played on of those occasions.

When you're playing a couple of dozen games at once after a tiring journey, strange things can happen. And give Black a little credit, too.

OhioChessFan: 19. g3 is horrible. Not sure what Capa was expecting, but once Ng5 was played, he knew he was in trouble.

sevenseaman: Simul is basically a braggart's idea. It contributes nothing to the game, only distorts it.
Jul-24-10  maelith: I disagree, simul promotes Chess.
