Kibitzer's Corner
May-23-08  Ed Trice: I know 12...Nf3+ was unsound, before anyone decides to razz me about it.
Premium Chessgames Member
OBIT: Yeh, it does seem like White made a few dubious moves after Nf3+. It's amusing, though, how the Black bishop, whose path to the kingside is blocked by two pawns (one pinned) at move 18, but four moves later it is a key piece in a combo involving a queen sacrifice.
May-23-08  Ed Trice: Another example of: "He who makes the second-to-last mistake wins"

whiteshark: See how an ELO 1,400 player (some 800 ELO points below black's rating!) has been completely smashed up. Isn't that great?

whiteshark: Did you shorten your text, <GeauxCool> ?
Jul-16-08  GeauxCool: <whiteshark> There's too much going on with the player, <who seems <to know that 12...Nf3+ was> unsound>, so I didn't want to razz him anymore than he's getting razzed.
Jul-16-08  whiskeyrebel: I thought games between two 1300-1400 level players were below the standard set by the bosses here. The first digit of blacks rating posted above is inaccurate according to the tournament crosstable. HHmmm.

whiteshark: <GeauxCool> Oh, I see. Then it has been applied to Ed's razor. :D
Jul-18-08  robmtchl: It appears there has been some editing to these posts? Wonder why?
Jul-22-08  shr0pshire: Regardless of what Mr. Trice's rating is, I don't think in general games even including one person rated 1400 are instructive for most of the chess public.

If Mr. Trice uploaded this game, I would urge him to upload some of his games against some more master level players.

Jul-27-08  robmtchl: Those games exist only in his mind.
Aug-27-08  robmtchl: lol
Jan-12-09  robmtchl: <Ed Trice> “Let's see how strong Rob Mitchell is, the "Master Strategist". robmtchl vs. GothicInventor Sun Jan 01 17:31:04 CST 2006”

I have to acknowledge…you are much ‘stronger’ behind a monitor than you are over the board! Oh Wait...behind a monitor you can let the computer play!

Our game is from three years ago, and this game is from last year? It seems you’ve gone downhill in 28 months now, doesn’t it? Oh Wait... you said you were deliberately tanking your rating. When will you stop? You shooting for 500?

Apr-06-09  Ed Trice: I can adjust my rating at will. I added 116 points to it in my last event, but I overshot. I tried to land at exactly 1399 but it went too high.
Apr-06-09  Ed Trice: You omitted 2 draws from the Bozzini Match.

And I still kicked your ass Rob.

When will you answer my question.

What is your rating?

Jul-06-09  JonDSouzaEva: Hey Trice - is it true that you were trying to sell copies of "My 61 Memorable Games" at the World Open?
Apr-27-13  Conrad93: My God! White had the better game throughout. Pure luck from a 2200+ rated player.

And the knight sacrifice was just pretentious.
