Jun-12-08  Microdot: Instead of 25.fxg5?, 25.hxg5! was 100% winnig for Morozevich, for example after 25.hxg5!,Rxf4(force) 26.Bxf4,Qxf4 27.Rbe1 What a pitty.

By the way I remember this beautiful rapid game by Morozevich against sargissian "In mainz 2006, Ordix open Morozevich outplayed Sarggisian in their rapid game. It was a beautiful closed Giuoco Piano" [Event "Mainz Ordix op 13th"] [Site "Mainz"]

Jun-13-08  arsen387: Wow, after this win Sargissian is +2 =1 -1 against Moro. Well done.

<Microdot> in your 25.hxg5!,Rxf4(force) 26.Bxf4,Qxf4 27.Rbe1 line why is Rxf4 forced? 26..Rf8 seems playable to me.

Jun-13-08  arsen387: Oh, great, missed that. thanks <Gilmoy>. But then what if 25.hxg5 Rg6? it prevents g6. Sorry if it's even easier but I can't see the win

kellmano: <arsen> After 25.......Rg6, i think 26. Bh5 would be annoying for black.
Jun-13-08  arsen387: damn, sometimes I miss such obvious things, that any patzer would see. Thanks <kellmano>. I of course thought a while about attacking the R with the LSB, but tried to do that from b1-h7 diagonal which wasn't effective and completely missed Bh5. I think I must quit chess for some time...
