  bright1: Is 25. g4 stronger than f3? If Black plays 25. ... f3+ than 26. Kg3 will force mate. If Black instead tries 25. ... e4 than 26. f3 leaves no way to stop h4#.
Jan-21-09   shyamsg: <bright1> doesn't 25. ... Rh8 gain sufficient time for black if 25. g4 is played?
Jan-21-09   Phantom.Nightmare: 9.Ba3 followed by 10.Qd8! wastes blacks tempo. White develops rapidly, which gives away the final result.

  arsen387: <doesn't 25. ... Rh8 gain sufficient time for black if 25. g4 is played?> no, 25.g4 Rh8? 26.h4+ Kxg4 27.f3+ Kf5 28.Rf7#. but there's no mate after 25..Rad8! The above-mentioned mate isn't possible as f7 is defended, and exchanging Rs isn't good for whites.
Jan-21-09   erimiro1: 22.-Rf7 23.N:h7!
Jan-21-09   YoungEd: <Phantom.Nightmare>: that's the first thing I noticed, too. That and the fact that Black can't get his QN into the game until move 19, and even then only ineffectively. It's interesting to see White try to set up a mating net. Good game by white!

kevin86: Black tries to keep alive with a spite check, surrendering a rook-but his king, forced deep into enemy territory,is doomed.
Jan-21-09   WhiteRook48: well, I guess the Knight wasn't that high above the board.
Jan-21-09   tivrfoa: no obvious mistake by black (maybe 20). very interisting!
