Oct-23-08  Woody Wood Pusher: 31..Kf7 for black.
Oct-23-08  ronpaz1: after 34...a6 35.b5 axb5 36.axb5 Anand will win the c3 pawn, but I can't see any breakthrough for him after the rook exchange. so I think this variant leads to draw.
Oct-23-08  DEEPERGRAY: I don't know what the hell everyone is kibitzing about

WHITE is OBVIOuslY WINnIng
Right now

KRAMNiK can win this
The C pawn has no future and blacks kings is on wrong side of the board

If KRamnik plays accurately he can WIN

VargPOD: <scrambler>, I was thinking about that too. If rooks come off it looks very hard for white to break trough.
Oct-23-08  Whiteresigns: All I can say is, if Anand wins this, please control yourself Woody ; p
Oct-23-08  scrambler: With rooks off and black a pawn down even if white plays h4 then Kf7 white plays hg5 then black has g6 blockade complete.

Eyal: Monokroussos: <Yep, things are getting grim here for Kramnik. Black's c-pawn is more a weakness than a strength and three of his pieces are passive. One possible continuation is 31...a6 32.b5 axb5 33.axb5 c3 and now 34.Rc2!, preparing Kd3, endangers the life of the c-pawn. (Note: not 34.Kd3 right away on account of 34...Nc5+ 35.Kxc3?? Nb3+.) So it's not clear what Kramnik has in mind, but it's looking increasingly like 5.5-1.5. Wow.>

chancho: <Deepergray> You mean Anand is winning this.
Oct-23-08  Woody Wood Pusher: <scrambler> by playing Kb4 then a5
Oct-23-08  Mateo: After 31...a6 32.b5 axb5 33.axb5 c3, White does not win material with 34.Kd3 because of 34...Nc5+ but the c pawn is still a target.
Oct-23-08  arkansaw: I think everyone needs to control themselves now
Oct-23-08  roughstuff: a6 from Kramnik , so maybe he can free his knight. His king is in a horrible outpost and can't get involved in the game. I don't want to lose this one but he is testing my faith in him

acirce: If 32.b5 and then play to win the c-pawn followed by rook exchanges, can Black set up a successful blockade?

SwitchingQuylthulg: What I'm thinking of is a position like this:

White just can't break through.

Oct-23-08  arkansaw: ...and try getting rid of foidos tickets for games 1X
Oct-23-08  roughstuff: just wwhat I thought although I should have said a5 instead of a6
Oct-23-08  scrambler: kramink has played a5 whaaa
Oct-23-08  Whiteresigns: <mckmck: what is Rybka scores now?> +1.04
Oct-23-08  mckmck: I predicted first < 31. g4 a5 32. bxa5 bxa5 Then .. Nb6 is good for black.> some times back.
Oct-23-08  stardust762: 31... a6 would be better, Anand has a good chance now.
