  percyblakeney: This must be a win for the black player with the impressive name and not a draw, good result for an unrated player that has black against a rather strong opponent.

  Gilmoy: Well, White's King is stalemated, so Black's K+P absolutely cannot touch White's Rook, hence the silly sequence 71.Rg5+ Kc4 72.Rc5+ Kb3 73.Rc3+ Ka4 74.Ra3+ Kb5 75.Ra5+ Kc4 etc. Always good for a laugh.

If 71..Kd4 72.Rb5 and Black cannot save the pawn for the same reason, e.g. 72..Kc3 73.Rc5+, or 72..Kc4 73.Rxb4+. So Black falls into the R+B vs. R endgame, which isn't fun.

  percyblakeney: I'd suppose 70. ... Kd5 is one of those bonus moves that never were played, and that white resigned before that. Also the final position is a quick win for black after for example 71. Rg5+ Kd4 72. Rb5 Rh1+ 73. Kb2 Kc4.
Nov-24-08   FiLiPiNoV: how come this game ended up in draw?!..huh..
Nov-24-08   ounos: My engine says it is mate in 16 in the final position. No draw.

For example:

<Rg4g5+ Kd5c4 Rg5c5+ Kc4d3 Rc5b5 Rh2h1+ Ka1b2 Kd3c4 Rb5b8 Rh1h2+ Kb2c1 b4b3 Rb8c8+ Kc4d3 Rc8d8+ Kd3e3 Rd8d2 b3b2+ Kc1xb2 Rh2xd2+ Kb2c3 Be4d5 Kc3b4 Ke3d4 Kb4b5 Rd2b2+ Kb5a6 Kd4c5 Ka6a7>
