Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-10-11  TheTamale: OK, here's what I'm getting. Someone please tell me if I'm on the right track. With his last move, Black has blocked White's b-pawn. Now White can't block the queen skewer Ba5 with this pawn.

If White moves his king to d1, Black picks up the queen with either R to d8.

White could then play Ne1 to create a flight square for his king, but it's open season on the king as soon as he leaves, and he easily gets beefed.

OK, basically thinking out loud here... at first I didn't see why White resigned at all.

And if the king goes to e2, Black plays Ba6, with b4+ to follow, driving the White king back into the danger zone.

Mar-10-11  TheTamale: Oops, I must've done some poor editing in my last comment. The last paragraph should have been the third! D'oh!
Mar-10-11  izimbra: Useful to see why the most straightforward moves don't work for white:

<15.Nd4 Nxd4 16.Bxd4 Bg4 17.f3 Bxf3 18.gxf3 Qxf3>

White has more survivable alternatives, but they also fail for ks development.

Mar-10-11  joupajou: TheTamale, I think you're on the right track.

White could fight back with e.g. 15. Qd3, too: 15. Qd3 ba5+ 16. Nd2 (16 Bd2? Re8+!) Qxb2 17. Rb1 Qe5. Black's game looks better, but not too bad for white.
