Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-01-14  jerseybob: At just the wrong time for a key game Kashdan comes up flatter than a pancake, and in an opening he had played countless times before. 15.Rab1, maintaining the q-side tension, might be better than bc.
Sep-01-14  perfessor: Not exactly a "swindle," but Kashdan fell victim to a confidence game.

It is unusual in these positions for Black to recapture with ....Bxc6: as Pachman pointed out long ago, he then has two weaknesses to defend rather than the pawn at c6.

Kashdan did come unstuck surprisingly quickly, though.
