Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-27-08   Smothered Mate: My comp is seeing a forced mate in 13 for white.
Dec-27-08   newzild: Very pretty and instructive play by white, especially at the end when he sacs pawns for the initiative.
Dec-27-08   Samagonka: I still don't see why this is the game of the day.
Dec-27-08   DoubleCheck: I find blacks 10th move (10...Nb6) to be questionable. He could of castled, instead of protecting his b-pawn from threats of Rb1-Rxb7, he allows white an open e-file leaving his h-rook useless

<Samagonka> I agree, I can't see the big tactics employed in this game. I guess this game shows why castling is O.K. rather than leaving king in centre. Still, no jaw-dropping moves, like you see in Kasparov/Karpov GOTD games.

fm avari viraf: Jack be nimble is nursery rhyme but Jack the Ripper was an unidentified murderer who spread terror over London in the 19th Century. Let Jack be quick & not criminal.
Dec-27-08   xrt999: < Smothered Mate: My comp is seeing a forced mate in 13 for white. >

I would have played the humiliating 25.Rd1 instead and watch my opponent crumble emotionally.

Dec-27-08   WhiteRook48: hilarious game. Very funny.
