Kibitzer's Corner
Feb-02-09   AnalyzeThis: I think that Karpov should have held this one, but of course it was difficult.

firebyrd: I thought the match rules here required the players to play to mate (no resignation). But maybe Karpov just let his clock run down to lose on time?
Feb-02-09   larsen959: This is a Caro-Kann Defense (not a Nimzo-Indian!) with ECO B14 (and not E54!). However a long pretty classical endgame (without Kasparov...)
Feb-03-09   pokpih: 1st time i see bishop harassed like that
Feb-04-09   skopelos: Actually this position is reachable via the Nimzo-Indian, so please think before you speak.

furrer: Skopelus, may I ask how?
Feb-07-09   The Rocket: Yeah I also want to know how... I put the moves in chessmaster and the game is never transposed into a nimzo-indian!.
Feb-07-09   sharkw: I'm not saying it would be a particularly likely move order (I might be getting some detail wrong), but it could arise from a Nimzo-Indian with:

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. Nf3 c5 5. e3 cxd4 6. exd4 d5 7. cxd5 Nxd5.
